About Crime Stoppers of Vermilion, Inc.
Crime Stoppers of Vermilion, Inc. was established in 2021. The program operates under the direction of a civilian board of directors. The board has 5 members from various areas of Vermilion Parish and meets quarterly to review business matters.
Sheriff Eddie Langlinais serves as Director, handling the day-to-day business of the program.
Our Mission
Crime Stoppers of Vermilion, Inc. was created to assist Vermilion Parish Law Enforcement agencies by paying cash rewards for information leading to arrest and/or conviction.
How It Works
Tipsters can call in information. If that information is used to make an arrest, a cash payout may be requested. Payouts are recommended to the board once the information is confirmed to have been utilized to solve a crime.
All callers remain anonymous.
Payout Information
The payout amount is decided based on:
- •Amount of information given
- •Type of crime
- •Risk level to obtain the information
Tips are paid by funds generated through court costs of violators.
