Requirements
The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking forward-thinking individuals seeking long-term employment in public service who want to serve the citizens and community of Vermilion Parish. For employment consideration, applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age, and a graduate of an accredited high school or possess a high school equivalency diploma (GED) recognized in the State of Louisiana
- Reside within the geographical boundaries of Vermilion Parish or within a 20-mile radius of the VPSO administration building located at 101 South State Street, Abbeville
- Successfully pass a physical examination and submit to psychological testing, as required by VPSO
- Successfully complete the basic course of training, in accordance with VPSO policy
- Be free of any felony criminal records by conviction, and be of good moral character
- Sign an employment contract with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Department
